With a color palette inspired by Andrew Wyeth, Zempel explores mood and the relationship between line and space. Working on paper, she created numerous smaller-scale studies in her pursuit of creating simple forms that evoke a contemplative mood and a dynamic relationship between complementary shapes and colors.
