A wandering passerby might be captivated by the natural beauty of the Sacramento Delta. Yet, to the trained eye of an artist, patterns and shapes emerge, offering the building blocks for dynamic compositions. Such was the case in the creation of this painting. With a sketchpad in hand and a flash of inspiration, Franz captured both the land’s topography and the atmospheric perspective of the scene. Through clever brushwork and the purposeful use of untouched paper to suggest movement, this original watercolor brings the vibrancy of nature indoors.
